--I'm reaching out again to ask for an assist in spreading the word about an upcoming research opportunity for veterans with PTSD or significant PTSD symptoms at Strongwater Farm.
First, thank you to those who shared this opportunity after my previous email. We have received interest and have veterans beginning to sign up, but we still have available spots in the upcoming cohort.
As we continue recruitment, we would really appreciate your help reaching additional veterans who may be interested and eligible to participate. Filling the available spots is important not only for this upcoming cohort, but also to help make this research as meaningful and impactful as possible. The more we can learn through this work, the better we can contribute to the growing understanding of how equine-assisted services may support veterans experiencing PTSD symptoms.
Strongwater Farm will be conducting the Man O' War Project (MOW) program initiative examining equine-assisted services for veterans experiencing PTSD symptoms. Participants will take part in eight weekly, 90-minute experiential group sessions involving unmounted interactions and activities with horses. Importantly, trauma is not explicitly discussed during the sessions.
The upcoming cohort will run October 26 through December 19 at Strongwater Farm in Tewksbury.
Eligible participants must be:
- Military veterans
- Between the ages of 18–70
- Diagnosed with PTSD or experiencing significant PTSD symptoms
- Fluent in English
I've attached the flyer again and would be grateful if you would share it directly with veterans in your network, through your organization, or with others who may be able to help us reach eligible participants. If someone comes to mind who may be a good fit, please consider reaching out to them personally and sharing the opportunity.
Every veteran who participates helps us learn more - and helps strengthen the value of the research for the veterans who come after them.
