Memorial Day Flag Garden- Volunteer Info

Adjutant Fernandez - 4/18/2024

HOW CAN YOU HELP? You can:

  • Help us plant flags on Wednesday, May 22nd. To sign up as an individual volunteer
  • Attend our name reading ceremony on Thursday, May 23rd at 10:30am. During this ceremony, families of the Massachusetts fallen since 9/11/2001 will read the names of their loved ones in front of the flag display in Boston Common.  By standing with us during this ceremony, you will let these families know that their loved ones’ ultimate sacrifice is honored and will never be forgotten.
  • Sign up for a shift to watch the flags over the weekend.  Shifts are in 2-hour increments and will occur from Thursday, 5/23 at 12:00pm until Monday, 5/27 at 5:30pm.  Volunteers watching the flags will be assigned in teams and will also be trained on how to educate the community about the display.
  • Help us retire the Flag Garden beginning at 5:30pm, May 27th.
  • Sponsor a flag(s). Use the "Sponsor" button on this page to show your support this Memorial Day by sponsoring American Flags being planted. Or, make a donation by clicking the red "Donate" button.
  • Become a Corporate Sponsor. View sponsorship levels below. For questions, contact Dan Arkins at darkins@mgb.org
